The Town of Moncks Corner Municipal Government was established on December 20, 1826. The Town operates under the Mayor-council form of Government. 

 

Our Town is governed by a Mayor and six Council members elected at-large by the registered voters of the Town of Moncks Corner. Council members are elected to staggered four-year terms and are elected under a non-partisan system.

Council Meetings

Moncks Corner Town Council meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 P.M. in the Courtroom of Town Hall, 118 Carolina Avenue. Any changes in meeting schedules are advertised in advance.

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Special Meetings of Town Council

Will be scheduled on an as needed basis and will be advertised and/or posted at the Town Hall as required by the SC Code of Laws, Section 5-7-250(a); 30-4-80(a) and (d).

Commission of Public Works: 

Second Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m.

Planning Commission:

Fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m.

Board of Zoning Appeals:

First Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m.

The Annual Board Meeting of the Moncks Corner Regional Recreation Corporation:

The Board shall hold regular meetings at such times and places as may be fixed by the Board.  Annual meetings will be posted at Town Hall and on the Town’s website.

Special Board Meetings of the Moncks Corner Regional Recreation Corporation: 

The Board shall hold special meetings at such times and places as may be fixed by the Board.  Special meetings of the Board may be called and held whenever the same may be deemed necessary by a majority vote of the Directors or by the President upon written notice to each member of the Board not less than two (2) days prior thereto pursuant to Article V, Section 1 of the Moncks Corner Regional Recreation Corporation By-Laws.
