6th Annual Halloween Festival

Grab your little ghouls and goblins and head out to Downtown Moncks Corner for the 6th Annual Halloween Festival! This year’s event will span Downtown Moncks Corner along Main Street from Carolina Avenue to Railroad Avenue, with a costume contest taking place in Unity Park for children 8 and under. The Street & Treat booths will line Main Street, as well as Railroad Avenue. Our goal is to allow a safe area for young children to trick or treat and enjoy some Halloween festivities!

After the Street & Treat, make plans to join us at the Regional Recreation Complex for Movies Under the Stars...a free outdoor movie, Casper

Free outdoor movies shown on the large screen at the new Moncks Corner Recreation Complex. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and family and friends for a night of free family fun. No outside food or drink please, food trucks and concessions will be available.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Berkeley BBQ Cookoff

 

 

The MC Lions Club has joined forces with the Town of Moncks Corner to bring the SBN Invitational BBQ Championship back to Moncks Corner in 2017. Come watch 15 pit masters as they compete for the Cooker of the Year title!  The MC Lions club will be selling pulled pork and hot dogs.  There will be jump castles and vendors on site, as well as live music from AXUS! 

The SBN Championship will be by invitation only.  It will be a  Best of the Best in South Carolina Style contest.   The Grand Champion from each of our contests for the period of one year will be  invited to compete in Moncks Corner for a $7500 prize package.  

Rice Ruckus- A contest that must feature one of South Carolina's earliest cash crops - Rice!  Make us your best rice dish.  No limits, no restrictions.  The only thing we ask is that the dish feature rice.  This contest will be a peoples choice judging.  Please make enough for 200 samples.

Kids Que -  The Burger will again be the star in this highly successful event.  Kids, 6 - 16 years old, under the supervision of a participating cook team or parent will be grilling their best burgers.  We had a great time with this event at the Commissioners Cup and we are expecting another great judging experience at the SBN Championship.  

 

 

 

Give Me Shelter Color-5K

 

The Give Me Shelter Color 5K, a fun run to benefit Callen-Lacey Center for Children, returns to Moncks Corner on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

Runners and walkers participating in the race are doused in a vibrant rainbow of colors as they complete the course. Hosted by Body on the Move, this kid-friendly event is open to all ages.

Just by registering, you are helping give home, healing and hope to child victims of abuse, neglect and parental abandonment in Berkeley County.

In addition to a safe and nurturing environment, Callen-Lacey Center provides youth comprehensive care including academic support and job readiness and life skills, designed to improve their well-being and help prepare them for adulthood.
